Description and Desired Qualifications



CH2M HILL Construction Project Director - Doha, Qatar



The Project Director is accountable for the delivery to plan the specific assigned competition venue(s) - stadium(s) or training sites - safely, on time, on cost and to FIFA quality standards. This includes the inception, planning, design, construction, handover and operations of the stadium(s), training sites and their associated common domain precincts (including all common domain up to the boundaries of the sites) for a successful FIFA tournament and as part of successful sustainable communities in legacy.



Responsibilities



Responsible for managing the overall delivery of the competition venues and related facilities on behalf of the Supreme Committee. The position of Project Director will therefore require close coordination, alignment, and communication among the PMC team, the Supreme Committee and Technical team as client, as well as other key stakeholders.



You will be:-





Overseeing the performance of the project on a daily basis to make certain that the services and practices employed are consistent with all requirements and contractual obligations. The Project Director will identify any performance issues and deviations in advance and will address them with the PM and report them to the Supreme Committee's Technical team.



Responsible for day-to-day management of venue and precinct design and construction as well as assist the SC in procuring and managing the consultants and contractors.



Proactively monitoring the PM's implementation and take appropriate action to improve performance, mitigate concerns and risks before they become intractable, and ensure that lessons learned from one venue/ precinct are adopted on all others.



Working with the event planning and management consultants to oversee the PM's in delivering test events and the Tournament overlay including assuring that all work is delivered in accordance with the approved overlay strategy that defines the operational and functional requirements, sports requirements, design approach, procurement and installation taking into account Q2022SC, FIFA, and Local Organising Committee (LOC) requirements.



Overseeing the development of the concepts that will provide the framework for successful tournament precinct master plans and legacy master plans including optimal location for stadiums and training sites, connectivity to transportation, safe and secure fan zones and media/broadcast zone s etc and including a sustainable infrastructure framework that fulfills bid book commitments on a carbon neutral FIFA tournament and optimises water, renewable energy, carbon and waste.
