It’s a communications role, incorporating online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build the client’s brand, both online and offline.
While every day as a Community Manager is different, this is what the role’s responsibilities may include:
Content creation - Writing social media related posts on various social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest etc, blog posts, articles, newsletters, and communications materials
Social media marketing - creating, managing and growing a client’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other strategically relevant online platforms
Events and event planning - attending industry events (often outside working hours)
Customer relations - the Community Manager is responsible for customer support and managing any online feedback
Analytics and Reports - Using measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives
