Market Analyst - ORYX Gas To Liquids Ltd

JOB PURPOSE:

The position is responsible to gather market information, perform economic modelling & conduct market studies used for the development and review of the marketing strategy, aligned with and in support of the ORYX GTL Strategic Objectives.



The position will track and monitor critical market intelligence in support of commercial decision making and will prepare supporting documentation required for auditing purposes when allocation of cargoes and sales are concluded.



Support the Marketing effort by capturing the full value of ORYX GTL cash flow and supply chain costs, where applicable.



The position must provide robust economic and analytical advice to support business decisions taken by Marketing management.



ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Market Development

• Conduct ongoing economic analysis and qualitative evaluations of market conditions, which includes conducting economic modelling and compiling business case scenarios for presentation to Senior Management.

• Liaise with counterparties in Shareholder Companies and customer organizations to explore and identify market growth and product growth opportunities.

• Investigate and develop market growth and product diversiification opportunities on an economic basis,

• Manage studies reviewing specifc market development or assessment needs.

• Identification and supporting the development of new opportunities in supply chain. Monitor ongoing potential opportunities and develop those most promising opportunities into business cases when necessary.

Departmental and Organizational Strategy

• Collaborate with the Marketing Manager, Head of Sales, Intellignece resources and Business Development to develop an dreview the departmental and group strategies and plans in line with business needs and overall organizational strategy,

• Support and ensure implementation of the agreed strategy.

Realization of Strategy

• Support Executive Management with economic business cases, sensitities and recommendations to enable decision making around marketing opportunities.

• Develop and maintain models for evaluating and supporting marketing decisions.

• Prepares records (Deal Sheet) of market conditions at the time of allocation of sales in support of decisions which will be used during audits. This is to provide post factum evidence that decisions taken at the time were based on and evaluated against market information available at the time of making the decision.

• Assess short to medium term global market trends (one to two years) and provide as inputs to the company's strategic direction with market opportunities. Identify and evaluate possible scenarios with potential to significantly impact marketing activities. Develop and propose alternative strategies suitable for each eventuality.

Market planning

• Lead the gathering of data from external and internal sources to generate and present meaningful business reports used at all levels for decision making purposes,

• Contribute to annual Revenue and Operating cost budget and planning and monitoring

• Maintain awareness of developments in the industry’s and markets’ best practices. Identify and evaluate those relevant best practices that make appropriate benchmarks.
