The director of auditing is authorized to direct a broad, comprehensive program of internal auditing within the company, internal auditing examines and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the management control systems provided by the company to direct its activities toward the accomplishment of its objectives in accordance with company policies and plans. In accomplishing his activities, the director of auditing and his representatives have full, free, and unrestricted access to all company functions, records, property, and personnel.
Responsibility:
The Director of Auditing:
1. Establishes policies for the auditing activity and directs its technical and administrative function.
2. Develop and executes a comprehensive audit program for the evaluation of the management controls of all company activities.
3. Examines the effectiveness of all levels of management in their stewardship of company resources and their compliance with established policies and procedures.
4. Recommends improvement of management controls designed to safeguard company resources, promote company growth, ensure compliance with government laws and regulations.
5. Review procedures and record for their adequacy in accomplishing intended objectives, and appraises policies and plans of the activity or functions under audit review.
6. Authorizes the adequacy of the action taken by operating management to correct deficient conditions; acknowledges adequate corrective action; continues to review with appropriate management personnel actions considered inadequate until there has been a satisfactory resolution of the matter.
7. Conducts special examinations at the request of management, including reviews of presentations made by persons outside the company
