Summary

Inspects and tests automobiles and trucks to determine need for and cost of repairs by performing the following duties:

- Determines need for repairs by road test, by use of mechanical testing devices, by questioning customer about vehicle's performance, or by visual inspection of vehicle.

- Estimates cost of repair and prepares itemized work order, listing costs of parts and labor.

- Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as brake adjustment, battery cable replacement, or hinge lubrication.

- Gives directions to Automobile Body Repairer, Automobile Mechanic, and other garage workers.
