Expressive Arts Therapist - Naufar

Job Purpose

To work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of clinical care, which encompasses expressive arts therapy assessment, treatment and management of patients across a wide range of clinical areas including mental health disorders, lifestyle modification and chronic pain.

Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist in the setup, organization and operation of naufar Clinical Services.

Key Duties

Clinical Duties

• To provide high quality expert expressive arts clinical care; planning, designing and facilitating a rehabilitation program.

• To schedule patients’ leisure and recreational activities providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups and establishing behavioural treatment goals.

• To provide therapeutic education, social skills, recreational/leisure, art, music, and activity services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

• To flexibly manage a varied caseload of both inpatients and outpatients with complex needs, using evidence based client centred principles.

• Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care.

Educational Duties

• To participate and lead in occupational therapy in-service development.

• To develop and implement naufar service improvement.

• To assist in the teaching of other multidisciplinary team members, clinical and non-clinical staff, and others to promote knowledge of occupational therapy management to enhance patient care.

Internal and External Relationships

Internal: All members of the naufar clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, and families.

External: Services within Qatar, Public Health Bodies.
