Research Manager - HOLDAL, Abou Adal Group

Role Summary :

Establish a proper research arm for the Group to accelerate the growth of the current business and to strategically guide business development in the middle east region.



Main Tasks and Responsibilities:



1. Handle the Group’s on-going research needs:

 Brainstorm with the business teams in order to identify the exact business challenges and recommend the optimal research plans whether internally led or outsourced.

 Brief research agencies on research requests and follow-up on research execution and results.

 Leads on small scale researches that can be done in-house such as focus groups, small scale product testing or surveys.

 Analyse research results and shares recommendation with business teams and management.

 Act as a facilitator between business teams and Nielsen on retail audits. Updates databases, understands potential discrepancies in the data, challenges either parties, points out solutions/fixes and works with the business teams on conclusions.

 Follow-up on internal media monitoring with the team.



2. Actively support the Group’s business development efforts:

 Gather relevant market, trends and competitive knowledge through research institutes, internet browsing, public institutions... and share them with the business teams.

 Act as a strategic partner to the Business Development Manager (BDM).

 Understand and endorses the Group’s Business Development (BD) strategy.

 Actively search online and offline for data in the Middle East and Africa to support the BD plans and proposals in different categories ranging from FMCG to Perfumes & Cosmetics and to Retail categories.

 Lead research projects from inception to implementation locally and regionally.

 Search, connect and select research agencies in the MENA that will become preferred research suppliers and be their point of contact.

 Lead on researches related to private labels development from feasibility studies to product and communication testing (Focus groups, in home visits, product placement, surveys…)

 Issue proper recommendations related to different phases of products development.

 Proactively presents development opportunities from market and landscape analysis.
