• Establishes processes for budgetary estimating of mechanical and electrical work, which could include subcontractor input depending on the stage in the proposal process.
• Provides MEP support services throughout the design development process including document reviews, value engineering options, and due diligence to confirm feasibility of systems.
• Reviews MEP scope narratives to assist Estimating in preliminary stages of design.
• Researches construction documents and analyzes specifications to determine estimated MEP costs.
• Develops historical database of mechanical and electrical costs.
• Design-assists process and budget review.
• Purchases major pieces of mechanical and electrical equipment by collecting and analyzing bids, issuing purchase orders, and ordering equipment.
• Reviews and manages submittals and change orders as related to MEP
• Inspects MEP work in progress and completed installations to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
• Leads the MEP coordination meetings.
• Participates in trade coordination meetings and BIM model collision meetings.
• Assists team and commissioning agent during commissioning phase, as required.
• Leads the MEP QA/QC process and meetings.
• Evaluates MEP as-built drawings.
