Job Summary
Manage the information technology staff and network operations, including infrastructure, network management, virus protection, security, server support and enterprise backups.
Duties and responsibilities
• Supervises assigned IT staff, including scheduling; assigning and directing work; orienting new employees; overseeing or conducting training; coaching; completing team responsibility for evaluating and appraising work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; taking disciplinary action; and ensuring quality of work.
• Evaluates technologies and provides both tactical and strategic direction for network platforms and configurations.
• Determines hardware, software or system functional specifications by applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users.
• Designs, develops, documents, analyzes, creates, tests, or modifies computer systems or programs based on and/or related to user, and/or to machine operating system design specifications.
• Develops systems standards, specifications and approved software, and recommends upgrades where and when appropriate.
• Develops computer infrastructure in remodel and new building projects.
• Maintains appropriate licenses and warranties for computer hardware and software.
• Conducts routine maintenance and upgrades; provides technical support for workstations, including hardware maintenance and operating systems maintenance.
• Manages and maintains systems security, network management, performance, and computer systems.
• Implements new programs and provides for the education of personnel on appropriate systems and software.
• Assures appropriate backups are being conducted and retained for all systems.
• Plans and manages information technology projects and budget.
• Coordinates and plans interconnectivity issues with other Offices and Departments.
• Procures and tracks all computer hardware and software purchases.
• Maintains information technology Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
• Maintains and upgrades professional knowledge, skills and development by attending seminars and training programs and reading trade and professional journals and publications.
• Ensures that individuals and team meet goals and provide highest level of service.
• Performs other duties of a similar or related level and manages or assists with special projects as necessary or assigned.
