Our client, a diversified holding company is currently seeking to recruit a Business Analyst
Job Role
• As a member of the Strategy & Business Development team, this position will support the development and execution of Corporate, Sector, and OpCo Strategy and other Corporate initiatives and will also provide insight and analysis on industries and markets.
• Overall responsibilities include researching and managing OpCo & industry information, transforming market and industry research data into strategic recommendations, creating and analyzing valuation models, monitoring OpCo performance and suggesting corrective actions as necessary, executing corporate initiatives and projects and driving the client perspective into all aspects of Company’s decision making process.
Principle Accountabilities
Corporate Strategy
• Assist Manager Strategy & Performance in development of OpCo, Retail Sector and Corporate strategy.
• Work with Retail OpCo teams to create strategies and execution plans.
• Conduct valuations on Retail portfolio OpCos and make recommendations on changes to the focus and levels of investment/ resource allocation.
• Participate in/lead mini-consulting engagements on the top issues facing individual business units/OpCos or the overall Holding company.
Environmental Monitoring
• Monitor, track, interpret, and share Retail industry, competitive, and innovation trends that can impact the Company’s portfolio
• Assess Retail industry trends, market size and structure, competitor benchmarks, and perform value chain analysis.
• Work with Finance department and OpCos to develop and deploy data analysis models and tools
• Coordinate and assist the Manager Strategy and Performance in the analysis of OpCo financials, regulatory and economic information, and financial periodicals to interpret data concerning price, yield, stability, and future trends of Company’s OpCos.
Business Strategy & Cross Company Interaction
• Assist in development of strategic and tactical business plans for existing Retail business units/OpCos and potential new Retail businesses.
• Develop, monitor, and update OpCo KPIs and performance metrics
• Assess, evaluate, and monitor Retail OpCo performance against plan and budget and suggest corrective actions as necessary
• Liaise with OpCo management to roll out and implement Holdings-directed initiatives
• Counsel with OpCo leadership to address and rectify business and performance issues
• Create and distribute periodic OpCo performance reports
• Participate in portfolio company steering committee meetings
• Support Manager Strategy and Performance in the preparation of documents required to communicate with stakeholders and shareholders
Business Development
• Contribute to Retail sector growth by identifying and prioritizing potential business opportunities and conducting evaluations of potential investments, strategic partnerships, and/or M&A activities
• Identify and explore potential Retail business and investment opportunities in both GCC and international markets
• Develop network in Retail industry to source business and investment leads
• Assist in due diligence in evaluation of investment opportunities
• Develop and present investment recommendations to Manager Strategy and Performance
