Interior Designer - Qatar Foundation

Job Purpose:

Provide technical direction and leadership to CPD Interior Design Section and appointed agents/representatives in providing adequate technical/architectural support to Project Managements team. And Liaise with other discipline leaders, managers, end-users and project teams in developing cost effective and fit for purpose design solutions and/ or scopes of work, to fit the Foundation aspirations.



KEY RESULT AREAS

 Responsible and accountable for the application of corporate/ client design philosophies and standards in order to promote and maintain the highest technical quality of fit-for-purpose/ optimized architectural/Master planning solution design.

 Receive, review and maintain all interior design project submittals and all related technical catalogues of all QF Projects to ensure safe and secure storage.

 Carry out random checks on site to ensure adequate quality controls are maintained.

 Assist Project Managers in all aspects of interior design to produce the highest quality finishes within the agreed budget and time constraints.

 Maintain regular contact with end-users to obtain requirements and ascertain satisfaction with interior design projects progress.

 Review technical drawings, specifications and all related documents for approval/rejection.

 Work closely with project management team and service providers to ensure deadlines are met and resources are used efficiently to meet requirements.

 Manage and coordinate work of Section to ensure that the overall objectives of the Division and Department are met.

 Provide technical direction and leadership to subordinates within section, in consistently producing high quality work that is fit-for-purpose, meets the End-Users requirements, complies with all relevant codes and standards, and meets safety requirements.

 Deal with complex technical and administrative issues related to Department workload comprising multiple projects at various stages of implementation. Resolves conflicting priorities varying technical requirements, and schedule deadlines.

 Responsible and accountable for the application of Corporate and client design philosophies, policies and standard in order to promote and maintain a world class technical quality of fit-for-purpose, safe, and environmentally sound engineering designs.

 Assume full technical responsibility with associated accountability for all assigned projects within the Section.

 Responsible for participating in, evaluation of, and recommending in implementation strategies for various corporate improvement initiatives and programs.

 Allocate internal resources of Section to suit the complex requirements of a large number of projects at various stages of projects lifecycle which are located in all Company operational areas.

 Evaluate and recommend need for carrying out in-house Feasibility studies and detailed designs as relevant to discipline areas within areas of responsibility. Review and make provision for additional resources as necessary.

 Manage and approve in-house, conceptual and detail designs as relevant to discipline areas within section areas of responsibility.

 Facilitate appropriate networks and regular internal and external contacts (Vendors, Contractors, and Consultants) regarding technical matters within related areas of specialization. Stays up-to-date with internationally recognized firms, projects, building technologies and activities.

 Coordinate with End Users all the requirements and obtain their approval on final concept designs.

 Manage the review of all Consultant Interior Design works at all design stages.

 Coordinates, review and approve of all architectural mock-ups, materials and models for QF projects.
