Back-up and Storage - MILAHA

Job Objective: -

Responsible for UNIX, SAN, Backup infrastructure, integration, administration, Server support, and trouble shooting in heterogeneous environment. Installation and configuration of Solaris and LINUX Servers. Coordinate and maintain Milaha’s Unix infrastructure and SAN Infrastructure. Participate in the quality control and auditing of UNIX, SAN and Backup’s to ensure efficiency and data integrity.



Key Roles and Responsibilities:-

Solaris system planning, installation, configuring, monitoring, and deployment of server hardware.

Maintain backup environment and tape library setup.

Analyse server OS/applications, along with hardware configurations for proactive tuning.

Troubleshoot and Resolve problems with OS and storage related.

Maintaining and administrating Netbackup system and SAN Storage.

Developing and maintaining Perl and bash scripts to support task automation and monitoring activities within the production space.

Administrate and troubleshoot Solaris networking service and protocols such as DNS, FTP, SSH, SMTP, Sendmail, and LDAP.

Supporting Oracle Storage architectures and associated fibre switches.

Develop or maintain disaster recovery system setup.

Ability to diagnose server / systems problems and develop effective solutions.

Configure, install and administer virtualization.

Maintain and administrating Solaris cluster environment, able to solve the cluster problem. Adding and deleting and troubleshooting of Cluster nodes.

Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial, open source and locally developed monitoring tools.

Advice on technical recommendations on the purchase of small to medium-sized Milaha’s servers for database and applications.

Respond within defined SLA requirements in relation to system issues.

Working with Database and System administrator to solve the complex problem.

Knowledge of Oracle database on UNIX platform for troubleshooting OS related problem and assist DBA in daily activities

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
