Financial Controller (SOX) MNC - Manpower Middle East

Responsible for all aspects of accounting and compliance activities for the Middle East, including preparation of the accounts for the Dubai branch in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements, completion of holding company accounts and ensuring compliance with internal controls and other group reporting requirements throughout the geography. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial close and reconciliation process: Completion and review of reconciliations of balance sheet accounts Review, Approval & Monitoring of reserves (receivable, returns, rebates, restructuring, misc, etc) for Middle East transactions Review & approval of monthly accruals or accounting adjustments for Middle East transactions Coordinate GAAP/accounting principles training for local team Coordinate process changes for accounting transaction process Review of contracts and terms and conditions Ensure that contracts are in place and correct accounting in terms of revenue and cost recognition is applied Review significant business plans/tenders to ensure accounting implications/tax issues are being considered Review significant financial solution (. rental, leasing) or credit actions and define path forward in conjunction with regional controller Coordinate with the local finance manager to ensure that revenue recognition is correctly reflected in estimates and understood in actuals Control: Oversight of statutory processes Ensure that all statutory accounts are completed in line with local deadlines Preparation of reconciliation between US GAAP accounts and local statutory accounts Ensure all other statutory filings are completed in line with local deadlines Monitoring of transfer prices to ensure group targets are achieved BS & assets management controls Participate in accounts receivable collection calls and consider revenue recognition and bad debt reserve implications of issues raised Ensure physical asset checks are performed as required Audit: Coordinate & act as a lead for preparation for internal and external audits Coordinate & act as a lead for SOX Resolve all audit issues on a timely basis
