Job summary:
The Senior Manager - commercial role is critical to the continued success of the Dubai World Trade Centre. Acting as the internal interface between commercial and external clients the role carries many responsibilities which directly influences DWTC’s commercial success. As one of the key representative for DWTC a full range of skills are required to ensure continued customer satisfaction and profitability of our operations.
Major responsibilities and accountabilities:
A. Key Result Areas:
Team Objectives
• To ensure that DWTC revenue budgets are met.
• To increase DWTC Venues revenues from third party exhibition organisers by maximizing revenue from existing shows and attracting new/replacement shows.
• To expand the number of external exhibition clients.
• To analyse the performance of the exhibition portfolio and produce strategies to maximize the potential offered in each market sector.
Overall Responsibilities
• To manage the commercial relationship between DWTC and a specified number of third party exhibition organisers.
• To ensure that agreed show profiles are adhered to and that unfulfilled elements of profiles are addressed.
• To ensure that contract negotiations for tenancies are concluded in line with the budget objectives.
• To ensure that new show development opportunities are identified from existing customers shows.
• To ensure that opportunities for all DWTC revenue lines are maximized from both existing and new business, including non-exhibition events, F&B, event Services, ESO, housekeeping and advertising.
• To identify, research and produce implementation plans for new show opportunities for DWTC.
• To analyse key competitor performance and identify potential threats and opportunities for DWTC.
• To identify and attract new organisers to DWTC.
• To collate and assess show performance information against agreed criteria, and recommend improvement plans as appropriate.
Immediate Responsibilities
• To fully understand the competitive landscape within the exhibitions industry and the implications for DWTC venue revenues.
• To collate performance information on an agreed number of exhibitions.
• To shadow the commercial team and develop a detailed understanding of the requirements of the Commercial role in the exhibitions business.
• To develop an understanding of the key commercial drivers within the exhibitions business and the key components of the organiser P&L at a show level.
• To understand in full the key drivers of the venue/organiser relationship.
• To become fully conversant with the DWTC calendar of events and effective calendar management to maximise occupancy levels.
• To manage the collection and collation of all relevant collateral for all DWTC exhibitions and selected non-DWTC events.
• To provide market data to the commercial team to assist in the development of action plans to improve show performance.
• To work with the commercial team to develop and recommend action plans to improve show performance and maximise market sector opportunities.
• As and when appropriate, to assume responsibility for an agreed selection of third party exhibition organisers.
