CAD TECHNICIANS - SSH

To translate the concept/sketch design produced by the Engineer into detailed coordinated drawings. Assists in design and calculations.



Key Responsibilities

~Liaises with Engineers and establish design concept in order to enable the formulation of relevant drawings for the different stages of the design.

~Carries out detailed coordination with other disciplines.

~Identifies potential problems and resolve them where possible.

~Assists in filing and archiving.

~Reviews equipment catalogues for dimensional information to check and confirm space availability.

~Resolves simple coordination problems and highlight them to the Senior CAD Technician for confirmation.

~Updates oneself with latest CAD techniques and engineering systems.

~Carries out printing and organisation of drawings to be issued.

~Where required, traces sketches produced by the engineer to neat presentable drawings that can be presented to Clients.

~Visits sites from time to time to become familiar with the practical aspects of construction/installations.



Construction Drawings

~Exercises good quality control to ensure that:

~Drawings comply with the CAD Manual

~Drawings are clear (properly dimensioned, all notes included, legends, north points, all information reflected).

~Drawings are coordinated, interrelate with each other, X-referenced, correctly layered and are relatively error-free.

~Meets agreed deadlines and task benchmarks set by Department.



Filing of Drawings

~Stores work-in-progress and completed drawings in correct folders per Company policy.
