Central TX (Transmissions) Manager



As Transmissions TX Manager you will be responsible for strategic planning and operations as well as the day to day management of Central Doha TX centre. This role is responsible for the outgoing feeds quality for the network as well as the output feeds globally. Leads a skilled team in a highly pressurized 24 hour news environment in Central TX. Works very closely with Scheduling and on air sales teams to ensure the TX is fully met in the highest Broadcast Quality .Works closely with vendors to develop efficient and cost effective transmission technologies.



Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Input - Develop plans for operational activities.

2. POC for Network Operations TX Centre

3. Attending weekly Management meeting within Network team to Maintain High Standards levels.

4. Interact with technology department to ensure the highest level of technical readiness for the infrastructure

5. Responsible for keeping up the quality of output standards at the highest level consistently across the network.

6. Participates in the development of Network operations policies, procedures and guidelines.

7. Set annual departmental budgets for Capex and Opex, and annual review and gate keeping

8. Continually assess performance and development of staff, providing regular feedback when necessary.

9. Carry out annual appraisements of staff and Identify annual training requirements for the department

10. Plan and implement procedures and workflows to maximize operating efficiency

11. Hold regular meetings with section heads to cascade management communication.

12. Perform regular reviews of performance to monitor and measure productivity within the department

13. Alignment across all TX Centres in the network responsible for TX Backup plans & disaster recovery.

14. Plan the efficient use of departmental resources to achieve the goals of the Network.

15. Organize recruitment and deployment of required staff as required in Doha and other TX centres globally.

16. Delegate tasks and accountabilities to departmental section heads

17. Provide operational and engineering support to other technical areas within the broadcast centre.

18. Support TX Supervisor’s in ensuring staffing levels are adequate especially in Breaking News situations.

19. Scheduling and output schedules are delivered promptly from all channels best practices across the network.

20. Provide advanced operational support to channels output and TX alignment in Doha and Abroad

21. Lead the planning and implementation of new technical facilities, liaising with technology department

22. Upgrade the quality of the outgoing signals and ensures the high standards always maintained

23. Lead the teams in delivering maximum performance.

24. Ensures the continuous output continuity on all platforms from the Central TX

25. Overall responsibility of the Output quality for all Network Channels

26. Perform other duties relevant to the job as requested across the network
