Head of Community Outreachwithin the Education Division to help further establish the Museum and its activities at the forefront of international practice. The role will build and develop community outreach, encouraging audience engagement and enhancing visitor experience across Qatar’s diverse communities. Responsibilities include:
• Supporting the overarching vision and strategy in all areas of the described role.
• Working with Deputy Director Education to develop clear community outreach strategy for existing and new audiences of all age-groups, with short, medium and long term goals, to enhance public engagement with world-class collection.
• Building long-term and consistent relationships with key institutions, stakeholders and audiences in Qatar through events, regular communications and participatory activities.
• Maintaining full awareness of audience needs, motivations and expectations to developprogrammes that respond to diversity and accessibility best practice.
• Maintaining regular outreach programmes in relation to special exhibitions and initiating outreach approaches to build community interest in permanent collections.
• Developing new strategies to reach out to under-represented audiences and community groups.
• Identifying areas for regional and international development and outreach, in close collaboration with Communications Division.
• Overseeing development of visitor ‘expert’ engagement through focus groups, community panels and participatory projects.
• Working with other teams to develop and deliver exciting and engaging community events.
• Building and mentoring a dynamic and vibrant team to deliver strategic goals and objectives.
• Ensuring effective booking, hosting and visitor tracking systems to ensure an engaging and enriching visit experience for learning groups
• Developing departmental policies and procedures in line with internationally recognized best practice.
• Supporting the work of all staff and encouraging an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual trust within the team.
• Other tasks as requested by the Deputy Director Education.
