Main purpose of Job (overall summary of role)
1. Reporting to the General Manager, the role is responsible to develop, control and direct the Liner Services Stream in order to enhance market share and achieve budgeted revenue. The jobholder is to ensure that all relevant processes and standard operating procedures are aligned to customer needs while overseeing the working capital position of the stream, identifying new opportunities in the market and strategically develop them to enhance stream profitability within Kuwait as main area of responsibility.
2. Job holder will be responsible to effectively manage the Liner Services functions for existing and new liner agency to enhance the market share of the Principals represented in Kuwait. Position will be required to offer assistance to other offices in the region as requested by the Department Head.
3. This position should ensure QMS standards are adhered to consistently in all operational activities, with a view to achieve required operational excellence in Liner Services department.
Key Responsibilities
1.Business Development: Source new clients; maintain excellent business relationships with current pool of clients; develop strategic moves in expanding the current business profiles using traditional and creative methods; establish marketing/sales campaigns in order to identify new leads; cultivate and nurture prospects in order to drive business growth to meet and exceed budgeted targets.
2. Revenue Generation: Identify and develop major corporate accounts for further revenue generation and thus enhancing market share within the defined area of responsibility.
3. Effective Coordination: Coordinate effectively between Regional and Group functions with a view to ensure smooth operations and total customer satisfaction. Job holder will also coordinate with different departments to oversee operations and ensure specific project requirements like Government Services are met.
4. Business Process Development. Conduct periodical visit to our internal processes, identifying gaps and aligning them to customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction
5. Leadership: Ensure the effective achievement of departmental objectives through the leadership of these teams - allocating resources, setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximize the performance of the department.
6. Market Intelligence. Maintain awareness of developments across industry by communicating the market research to the Commercial and Sales / Marketing teams locally and regionally to ensure that the company continues to apply the most effective policies and approaches. Monitor competitor activity and ensure that the appropriate responses are developed to any perceived threats to business. Analyse trends in the business environment, help to develop products / services that are responsive to the market demands and identify new market opportunities.
7. Debt Control: Follow up and monitor debtors accounts with the purpose of maintaining a low Debtors aging and credit periods within company approved limits.
8. Reporting: Prepare and submit Management Report to provide updates on the department performance and any deviation from company set objectives. Ensure monthly submission of all other operational, commercial and quality assurance reports.
9. Customer / Vendor Relationship: Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key-decision-makers and other stakeholders generally, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services. Maintain an awareness of customer requirements and any complaints to identify any areas that may need development or improvement.
