System Administrator - Manpower Middle East

Our client, a finance and investment company is currently recruiting for System Administrator. You will be reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager

JOB PURPOSE

The System Administrator manages the computer systems in an organization. The system Administrator is involved with operating system and hardware installation and configuration, Application installations and upgrade, maintenance of network hardware and software and monitoring network availability.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Job Specific: System

• Operate master consoles in order to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.

• Configure, install and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.

• Evaluate, test, and deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the server infrastructure.

• Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing data center environments.

• Perform routine audits of systems and software.

• Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.

• Add, remove, or update user account information and reset passwords.

• Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage and response times to maintain operating efficiency.

• Create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures of the system.

• Answer technical queries.

Operating System Security

• Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.

• Ensure that the network infrastructure is up and running.

• Perform system backups and recovery procedures.

• Assist in developing, implementing, testing and maintaining server level disaster recovery plans.

• Manage & troubleshoot networks, intranet & internet connectivity or any reported problems throughout the organization

• Write or modify basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate systems administration tasks.

• Analyse system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems.

• Understands and applies fundamental concepts and principles of a professional discipline or technical specialty relating to the position

• Possesses basic knowledge of organizational policies and procedures relating to the position and applies them consistently in work tasks

• LAN/WAN configurations and Network protocols

• Providing Technical reports.
