mechanical technician

Mechanical Technician is responsible for installation of all the mechanical equipments and piping complying with the drawings, specifications, rules, regulations, safety norms. He is also responsible for planning resources required for completing each activity & maintaining documents related to equipment installation & safety.

Key responsibilities (But not limited to)

Ability to read drawings and instructions, to install/remover, set, align & commission rotating equipments or parts such as pumps, motors, blowers, agitators etc



Ability to read drawings and instructions, to install/remover, set, align & commission static equipments or parts such as pressure vessels etc



Ability to read drawings and instructions regarding welding, laying and installation of pipes of all MOC



Ability to carry out precision measurement & prepare documents for installation activity



Knowledge of materials commonly used in chemical service:

Pipes : Size, schedule and metallurgy

Valves : Size, type, trim and metallurgy

Gaskets : Size, type, and installation

Fittings : Sizes, rating and type



Assist Mechanical Engineer in correlating the mechanical & Civil drawings and suggest ways to improve the installation efficiency



Ability to ensure correctness of the equipments along with their commissioning spares and accessories received at site. Prepare plan for their installation.



Assist Mechanical engineer in reconciliation of the equipments, materials and consumables received at site



Assist Mechanical Engineer to maintain all the drawings and documents intact at site



Assist Mechanical Engineer to prepare installation procedures & method statements



Ability to assist preparation of resource requirement which include men, machinery, material, tools & tackles etc. for each installation activity at the beginning of the project and for weekly and day to day work independently and forecast the requirement well in advance.



Ability to drive forklifts as per local regulations is preferred.

Understands and apply plant safety standards and maintenance procedures while performing work
