Contract: 2 Years



Background:



UK Visas and Immigration Abu Dhabi, require an experienced communications professional to design, co-ordinate and deliver our communications efforts throughout the Middle East region.



The UK Visas and Immigration was established in the spring of 2013, a key operational command of the UK Home Office. UK V & I in Abu Dhabi is responsible for delivering a high volume visa service, which makes high-quality decisions, with a culture of customer satisfaction. The Region covers 15 countries with over ½ million customers.



Main Responsibilities and Duties:



The UK provides one of the fastest visa services in the region with a wide range of additional premium and priority services. Applying for a visa is a simple process, but one that is often shrouded in mystique - we want to dispel those myths using all available channels - to make sure our customers, stakeholders and the wider public know exactly how straightforward the process is.



As well as educating customers, we are looking to generate wider positive coverage of the UK visa service through both digital and traditional media channels. We want to continue to attract increasing numbers of tourists and business travellers to the UK, together with the brightest and best students from around the region. We need to ensure that the simplicity of our visa offer is part of the reason people choose to come to the UK.



We continually seek to improve our products and services, putting customer needs at the heart of business development. The communications manager will also be responsible for the development and delivery of our customer engagement programme - seeking input from existing and potential customers to shape new products and services.



Key Activities:



• lead communications campaigns, promoting the visa service in the region including launching new packages of services

• Work with partners across the UK Government platform to ensure that consistent, factual messages about our visa service are propagated

• Develop and roll out products for use in a range of channels - digital media, print media and news,

• Undertake direct engagement activities with tourist, business and student sectors designing and delivering road shows

• Ensuring that feedback and insight from communications activities are captured and fed back to support the design of future campaigns as well as inform the development of new products and services.

• Work with key stakeholders to provide them with information to promote the visa service on our behalf

• Support growth messaging on visas in key markets

• Overall responsibility of the significant budget



Other duties include:



• Participation in Embassy emergency planning and any response to a crisis affecting UK citizens.
