Head of Operations (Leading Islamic Bank in Qatar)

- Sets the strategic direction of the bank’s operations

- Leads the business to achieve market beating levels of efficiency, accuracy and speed of processing

- Monitors and reviews risk within the business to ensure it remains within acceptable and agreed parameters

- Provides leadership and guidance to his direct reports on all aspects of the business

- Participates fully as a member of the bank's team including ensuring high levels of support are provided to internal stakeholders

- Develops staff and identifying and nurturing talent, and particularly Qatari talent, to ensure the future of the bank

- Monitors and improves customer and staff satisfaction



Key Responsibilities:

- Setting, in conjunctions with COO, a roadmap to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the business through effective use of IT, streamlining of procedures and the development of staff

- Monitoring customer and internal stakeholder satisfaction and identifying and implementing improvements to enhance it

- Ensuring that any regulatory requirements and the Bank’s own internal policies and procedures are following; respond promptly to any issue raised by QCB, Compliance, Risk or Audit

- Coaching and rotating staff to improve the quality of their work and broaden their experience so that they can take on more senior positions

- Ensuing, in conjunction with HR, that staff, particularly Qatari staff, are provided with appropriate L&D programmes and that they participate fully in these programme

- Reducing error rates and operational losses by monitoring work quality and daily reports, investigating errors, and making changes/or requesting IT enhancements; identify any irregular items and take immediate action

- Checking and approving large value transactions as per delegated authority

- Reviewing customer complaints and, where appropriate, responding personally

- Acting as a sponsor for key projects; ensuring that they deliver on time and within budget

- Deputising for COO when he is on leave.
