Site Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:



Assist MEP Manager to prepare periodical reports and other reports.



Participate in all aspects of the management and reporting of the progress of MEP works to the MEP Manager



Assist the Project Team by providing detailed knowledge of the Abu Dhabi codes of practice, regulations, and specifications for the construction industry with particular knowledge of the Air Conditioning, Fire Protection and Plumbing requirements.



Monitor the Mechanical Works undertaken by the MEP Contractor including, Air Conditioning, Fire Fighting and Plumbing works for major commercial buildings.



Planning and review of progress of all phases of the mechanical works.



Review the MEP contractors’ technical submittals and issue comments for compliance.



Resolution of technical issues with relevant Project Team Companies.



Review contract documentation and advise professional teams of problems and assist in resolution.



Surveillance of the MEP contractors site works. Review progress and quality of installation.



Coordinate with MEP and PCS / Planning Managers to plan in conjunction with the MEP Contractor the commissioning of the works and the interface with the overall project.



Monitor the preparation of record drawings and operating and maintenance manuals. Review and comment on operating and maintenance manuals.



Co-ordinate the client / MEP contractor relationship during client training and handover.



Review reports and comments for inclusion in the overall PMC-client report



Monitor and report progress and completion of Mechanical and Electrical works.



Maintain a good working relationship with the project team and other relevant parties.



Note: This position requires basic knowledge of electrical systems and an ability to manage and supervise electrical engineering works.
