The candidate for this position requires sound practical experience and knowledge of internal corrosion monitoring functions including:
a) Preparation of comprehensive reports including identification of causes of internal corrosion failure and provide recommendations for appropriate and effective remedial work for submission to the Company.
b) Assist in the design and installation of related internal corrosion control systems for new projects and modifications to existing systems
c) Participation in leading the corrosion inspection and testing programs, including the use of retrievable and retractable on-line internal corrosion systems and intrusive and non-intrusive probes, to monitor the performance of scale and corrosion inhibitors and to measure the rate of corrosion.
d) Understand the full range of intrusive and non-intrusive monitoring techniques related to the internal corrosion monitoring systems to be used in crude, gas and water systems as well as down hole monitoring, including knowledge in electrochemical techniques and the like, in order to advise in their proper application and useful lifetime.
e) Make contributions to establish plans to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing internal corrosion monitoring systems.
f) Assist in development of corrosion rate prediction models.
g) Contribute to the development and implementation of corrosion control measures and related issues, through multi-disciplinary teams when necessary for both surface and sub-surface facilities.
h) Liaise with Client’s staff on a daily basis with regards to progress of work, attend and contribute to weekly meetings.
i) Supervise laboratory and field testing programs for chemical corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, biocides, oxygen scavenger and provide recommendations for selecting the best chemicals based on techno-economic results.
j) Conduct failure investigations to any failure occur in the Client’s assets and prepare reports and recommendations to avoid similar in nature failure.
k) Conduct internal corrosion risk assessment studies and identify and ranks the internal corrosion risks at the Client’s facilities and provide recommendations to minimize the risks.
l) Understand and comply with Client and international codes, regulations, reporting procedures, and standard practices.
m) Conduct formal training courses as well as providing one-on-one training for personnel by demonstrating the proper use of the various instruments and testing techniques required for internal corrosion monitoring and control.
