The Petroleum economist to support the work of the economics division of the Lebanese Petroleum Administration. The role will be to support the activities of the LPA, initially in relation to the negotiation and evaluation of upstream production sharing contracts (PSC’s). The petroleum economist will work with a technical spreadsheet model of the Lebanese Model Production Sharing Contract (already constructed) that is to be used to evaluate outcomes from the negotiation of PSC’s for oil and gas companies bidding in Lebanon’s first licensing round. The petroleum economist will become familiar with the model, executing alternative model scenarios based on various assumptions, and evaluating the outcomes. The ability to write reports and to present results in a clear, concise way, to other members of the LPA will be important. It is anticipated that the petroleum economist will eventually assume ownership of the model and be capable of modifying and updating the model where necessary.
