Translator / Interpreter - Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) - Holland

• Provide written translation for documents and reports from and to Arabic and English languages.

• Provide translation during training sessions, workshops and recruitment session as required.

• Assure that translated text is cohesive and meaningful.

• Translate incoming and outgoing correspondence, letters, reports, etc.

• Accompanying expatriate staff to meetings, seminars or other similar events and providing consecutive (spoken out loud) or whispered (soft voice, non-disruptive) interpretation to/from English and Arabic.

• Update the mission with the latest news by collecting information from the media, web search, etc. Daily scan at Arabic media (printed, broadcast, social) to keep MSF informed on humanitarian / medical developments.

• Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.

• Identify and resolve conflicts related to the meaning of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors.

• Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials.

• Take minutes of meetings when requested.

• Type and/or translate drafts, documents, letters, receipts and other relevant administrative material as requested.

• Manage document translation and communications between the mission and government departments and other organizations/companies such as ministries and agencies upon request.

• Manage electronic storage of soft copies of all translations in clear and accessible system.

• Support the mission with admin work when needed.
