MTU Applications Engineer - MTU Business

Role & Objectives

The Applications Engineer is responsible for performing the engineering required to win new business and for the performance of contracts which have been won. The Applications Engineer will propose solutions to technical requirements and will support the Projects Manager in ensuring that projects are delivered on time. The Applications Engineer will deal with Colleagues, Customers and Suppliers in order to propose appropriate solutions, gain necessary approvals and deliver contracted projects to Customers.



Responsibilities

The Applications Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 Determining technical specifications for the MTU Systems.

 Supporting Sales Team by identifying MTU system business opportunities.

 Interpreting customer requirements and offering/designing solutions.

 Making technical presentations.

 Coordinating technical issues for Systems Business for Marine, Energy and Oil & Gas Systems.

 Provide project management for design validation & approval.

 Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education.

 Designing custom-made products.

 Requesting support from Projects Manager as required.

Reporting to Projects Manager regularly on status of projects in-hand.

 Meeting project deadlines.

 Attending trade shows, conferences and training events.

 Creating and coordinating the documentation of all projects.

 Compiling installation specifications and guidelines.

 Coordinating and executing commissioning for all projects.

 Providing technical support for the Aftersales Teams.

 Ensuring compliance with all principal-related (eg MTU) guidelines.

 Observing all Company regulations and complying with Company Ethics as well as local and international regulations/legislation
