The HR Director is responsible for key strategic and operational elements of Human Resources at Doha Institute (DI). He/She creates reviews and updates strategic plans in line with DI’s current and future requirements. Talent attraction, Talent Development & Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll operations and administrative functions related to HR are the operational HR areas which come under the direct responsibility of the HR Director.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensuring that strategic plans are devised and rolled out in every area of HR in anticipation of the current and future needs of DI from its human resources.
• Periodically, conducting benchmark studies to understand industry and local best practices with HR and incorporating those relevant to DI.
• Developing yearly and medium term HR budgets.
• Conducting periodic compensation and benefits surveys and recommending changes in the C&B structure to the Board of Trustees.
• Managing the entire talent attraction process through an in-house or outsourced team.
• Conducting a scientific manpower planning process in close coordination with internal divisions.
• Designing, implementing and monitoring the recruitment process and meeting all internally agreed SLA’s on time to hire and quality of hire.
• Identifying critical roles and ensuring that there is proper succession planning either through internal movements or proactively seeking out talented external applicants.
• Ensure that all aspects related to training needs analysis, and implementation of the training calendar are met within time, cost and quality parameters.
• Conducting training effectiveness studies and ensure that DI adopts the most effective training practices.
• Developing and functionally managing the yearly performance management cycle.
• Supporting the hiring managers, compensation committees and Board of Trustee on all aspects of compensation design for new hires.
• Ensuring that all new roles are evaluated and slotted into the right grades.
• Overseeing the payroll operations and ensuring that it is run to the highest quality standards.
• Designing and managing the HR administration process thereby ensuring that all employees get a high level of HR administrative support.
• Ensuring compliance to local and DI rules for all HR practices.
• Coordinating and maintaining adequate and full personnel records, files and reports.
• Investigating complaints of employees in order to maintain a healthy work environment.
• Performing other personnel administrative functions through reportees including negotiating contracts, supervising, evaluating, investigating employee turnover in order to maintain adequate staffing, reduce turnover and enhance productivity.
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned by the VP for Admin and Finance.
