Site Electrical Engineer - BUTEC S.A.L.

At this entry level, job holders work under supervision. They have to get a clear understanding of the project’s requirements and specifications, show insight into the planning of the project, supervise on-site execution, solve regular problems and raise the flag in case of major or critical discrepancies/potential risk.



1. Review and discuss the look ahead planning with the senior/section engineer, organize, prioritize and assign the work to be performed to foremen and coordinate positively with other field personnel to avoid functional conflicts and ensure timely completion of work.

2. Study and understand all drawings, specifications, method statements, material data sheets, safety practices and other information/requirements/documentation relevant to own area of specialty, raise any incomprehensible issue to have a full understanding of the job requirements.

3. Communicate to foremen the needed information and provide them with the necessary technical assistance in order to execute work at high quality standards and meet the project’s requirements.

4. Identify and agree with section engineer the planned productivity rate of each subsection, monitor its fluctuation all through the project execution and take all the necessary measures to avoid exceeding acceptable limits.

5. Coordinate closely with foremen to assess and provide the needed resources (people, materials, equipments, tools, etc...), inform the senior/section engineer and make the necessary follow-up to make sure the requested resources are delivered on time and according to specifications.

6. Monitor the execution of work based on specifications/requirements/standards, pinpoint discrepancies, review the QA/QC report, suggest and discuss corrective actions to solve regular discrepancies and escalate promptly critical issues/problems.

7. Carry out regular meetings that aim to enhance awareness at all levels as well as to identify adequate solutions for encountered problems/discrepancies and come up with improvement plans with regards to quality, safety and other project’s requirements.

8. Collect information and documents, prepare and submit daily reports to the senior/section engineer in order to keep track of daily activities.

9. Participate in the meetings held with the client/consultant and discuss when needed any construction matter that may arise.

10. Take advantage of on-the-job training opportunities to increase capability and skill level.
