Database Specialist - HOLDAL, Abou Adal Group

Role Summary :

The Database Specialist is responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing Information Technology with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities



Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Develop a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas.

2. Develop a security scheme for the database environment, as well as assisting in disaster recovery.

3. Provide leadership during the development and enhancement of production applications including working with applications, technical support and operations during the design, development and implementation of applications.

4. Work with others in IT to build the logical database area and provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process.

5. Work with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies.

6. Administer a variety of database systems through Microsoft SQL Server,

7. Audit, modify, and amend data in systems using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import.

8. Enhance or build database designs.

9. Support or execution of data migrations into the ERP environment using the Microsoft Data Migration Framework or other technologies.

10. Can work closely with the functional team to create requirements documents that will be used by vendors for customizing the ERP system.

11. Create and modify BI reports using SQL Server Reporting Services.

12. Create external applications using .NET that interface with the ERP

13. Perform data conversions, and cleansing into the ERP System.

14. Manage, Implement & Maintain applications on mobile platforms: Android, iOS, Windows…

15. Assist suppliers in developing high-quality and reliable mobile applications with focus on voice quality, network reliability and battery optimization

16. Fine-Tune certain mobile applications to custom make them for Holdal needs.

17. Build tools and processes to enhance functionality and improve the user interface

18. Obtain, measure and incorporate user feedback to support the continuous improvement process through the use of analytics, surveys, interviews, etc. and recommend and implement CI initiatives as appropriate for the business.
