Project Manager (Water Governance and Gender Project) - Oxfam

Project Leadership and Management:

• Provide effective leadership and management of the project team ensuring it performs to a high standard with a strong team and work ethos.

• Directly manage senior project staff ensuring that they carry out their roles and responsibilities according the project needs’ and to a high standard of professionalism.

• Oversee the partnership with a selected national NGO and ensure that components of the project delivered by the partner are implemented effectively with strong engagement and monitoring.

• Work closely with Oxfam’s coordinators for technical inputs on WASH, water management and gender, and apply Oxfam’s monitoring, evaluation and learning processes with a strict focus on programme quality and compliance.

• Together with the Programme Manager, identify and pursue new project opportunities, and contribute to project proposal writing.

Budget Management:

• Closely monitor work plans and procurement plans against the budget with a focus on project activities being implemented accurately according to budget lines and time.

• With the support of the grants team, prepare internal and external reports, ensuring compliance with Oxfam and donor requirements.

• Ensure that the project is cost effective, efficient and complies with Oxfam and donor standards of management and accountability.

• Ensure Oxfam’s internal project management applications are maintained and updated.

Representation:

• Represent Oxfam and the project to the partner, donor representatives, WAJ and relevant municipal authorities.

• Support the development and delivery of advocacy and influencing plans focusing on urban water, gender and women’s rights.

• Represent the project to internal stakeholders, including: OGB and Oxfam Quebec senior management.
