Quality and Safety Officer

Administrative duties:



• Participate in Health Center team meetings, , and follow up when required on action steps as recorded in minutes.

• Coordinate scheduling of staff education sessions, meetings, conferences, workshops, etc, related to job role

• Coordinate with Quality Management Department (quality and and risk sections) to develop/ format documents and presentations

• Develop databases as needed

• Maintain Quality Improvement and Patient Safety resources within health center





Quality Improvement and Risk Management processes/ activities:



• Serve as a liaison between Health Center and Quality Management Department

• Participate in the PHCC assessment survey process

• Participate and support in reviewing, preparing and maintaining accreditation standards, assessment process, and identifying areas for improvement within health center

• Facilitate, review and maintain patient safety program within Health Center in accordance with Quality Management Department

• Assist with annual review of patient safety program

• Preparation of necessary progress reports and

updates to the Quality Management Department

• Review and maintain quality improvement and risk management initiatives in coordination with the Quality Management Department.

• Provide input and assist with implementation of short and long term infection control plans for Health Center in coordination with risk management plan

• Monitor compliance with infection control policies and best practice including ACI ROPs and hand hygiene practices

• Ensure Health Center meets all national communicable diseases protocols, reporting requirements and compliance

• Support and encourage incident reporting, action planning and investigation through Datix system

• Ensure any trends affecting patient and staff safety identified as a result of incident analysis are integrated into policies and teaching programs

• Participate and support in Root Cause Analysis

• Ensure data for indicators are collected from different departments in the Health Center and reported to Quality management department.

• Participate in quality improvement and risk management informal and formal education and teaching programs

• Support senior staff and service leads in strategic and operation risk assessments and manage the risk register reporting into the Steering Committee

• Other duties related to quality improvement, risk management or patient safety as assigned by Health Center Managers or Quality Management Department through the health center manager
