Head, Projects and Ground Segment

Job Purpose:



To assist the Director of Technical Planning & Development in formulating technical plans for the Organization with the objective of ensuring effective and efficient service delivery and result, in accordance with the corporate policies, strategies and plans.



Main Accountabilities & Activities:



•Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals

•Draft and submit the financial proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary

•Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools to ensure efficient in delivery

•Take inputs from customers (for very long term contracts) regarding their future plans and prepare action plan for the Organization

•Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis

•Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project

•Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

•Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

•Coordinate with other departments, if required and other team members for execution of the plan

•Source projects, develop RFP with the support of team members for the initiative

•Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations

•Lead the team for technical evaluation of the bidders and do the negotiation

•Participate in conferences/ meetings to know about latest market trends, competitor offerings, technical advancements in satellite technology, etc.

•Ensure experiencing up to date information on new technologies and services in satellite operations

•Generate commitment, motivation and enthusiasm for the Projects and Ground Segment Section and Organization as a whole

•Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow of the Projects and Ground Segment Section

•Plan, manage and review individual performance and provide regular feedback, development opportunities and coaching, taking prompt action where necessary

•Provide opportunities for the Projects and Ground Segment Section members to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives

•Ensure the Projects and Ground Segment Section complies with Organization’s policies, processes, practices and systems, and maintains Organization’s high standard of work and work ethic
