ABOUT THIS JOB



Middle East Asia Pacific (MEAP) region consists of eight geomarkets and the regional Procurement team is looking for a Category Manager who will be focusing on delivery of agreed objectives in line with the procurement strategy while deploying the Category Management strategy. The MEAP Category Manager will be reporting to the MEAP Strategic Sourcing Manager.

This is a full time position based in Dubai, UAE.





KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES



Lead regional sourcing projects in Middle East Asia Pacific for identified categories (e.g.: Oilfield Equipment, Chemicals).

Establish and lead cross-functional teams to manage the development and implementation of the procurement strategy.

Deliver the procurement category strategy including sourcing and commercial activities to achieve financial savings targets through analysis of category and sub-category as well as regional supply chain strategy.

Identify cost and value drivers within the category.

Ongoing analysis of supply markets to identify potential suppliers and market trends, benchmarking of industry standards.

Support Client’s commercial bids preparation.

Preparation of strategy cost modelling and tender documents using regional templates.

Manage tendering and bid evaluation process.

Negotiation of contractual agreement to ensure competitive total cost, service quality and compliance.

Deliver sourcing projects in accordance with BHI procurement processes.

Engineering contracts special terms and conditions to best suit operations need and ensure total cost optimization.

Ensure full suppliers compliance with HSE policies, in all aspects of the Supply Chain activity.

Manage and develop suppliers’ relationship.

Ensure full implementation of negotiated contract in the various locations.

Monitor key regional suppliers performance by implementing suppliers score cards (consolidate data collection from all locations).



ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:



Education qualifications



University degree in Engineering or Business Management Professional qualifications / Skills



Strong negotiation skills

Excellent analytical skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Fluent in spoken and written EnglishExperience:



Proven experience in driving change within the Procurement function

Experience of working to deliver a new Procurement strategy is desirable

Demonstrated experience in the specific procurement category

Experience working in an agile environment with a level of uncertainty around predicted requirements

Significant experience in supplier management

Multi-cultural teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:



Recognized procurement professional - professional qualification desirable (e.g.:CIPS, ISM)
