- Assist management in the formation of bid strategies and techniques, including subsequent implementation to determine projects to bid.
- Prepare cost estimates (HVAC sheet metal duct systems or plumbing and piping systems) including labor, material, equipment, subcontractors, and other direct costs.
- Review plans and specifications to determine scope of work.
- Take-off material and provide accurate quantity surveys. Adjust labor production factors based on degree of difficulty.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Conduct conceptual estimating in support of budget proposals.
- Support sales initiatives including interviews and presentations.
- Participate in design/build activities.
- Develop value engineering options with recommendations based on cost, engineering, equality, and availability of materials.
- Prepare and augment mechanical drawings.
Maintain files of working documents.
- Support sales team and other department personnel as required.
- Attend meetings with Project Management to review progress of project and estimating activities.
