We have two openings for a BIM Coordinator. While our company’s main tasks do not include creating / authoring models, it is important that the BIM Coordinators have experience creating models. We also prefer BIM Coordinators who have site experience and/or have worked on construction BIM models.
One of our projects requires knowledge of Autodesk Revit, while the other project requires knowledge of the Bentley BIM suite. We don’t expect anyone to have expert knowledge of both platforms. We therefore have two openings, one for a Revit expert and one for a "Bentley BIM" expert.
Duties:
The BIM Coordinator reports to the BIM Manager and will work closely with other BIM Manager(s) and BIM Coordinator(s) from the Project Team.
The responsibilities of the BIM Coordinator are as follows:
Review the BIM Implementation Plan and advice the BIM Manager of any necessary updates or amendments.
Review models uploaded by consultants and contractors and run initial quality checks (both manual and automated).
Conduct clash detection, visual walkthroughs and report findings.
Create realistic views and renders from the model as and when necessary.
Break down models and extract views and information from models.
Audit BIM metadata.
Link model elements and construction schedules to create construction simulations.
Extract quantities from the model.
