We are a Project Management Company with a future opening for an experienced Quantity Surveyor. The Quantity Surveyor shall assist with all commercial, contractual and information management tasks.
Job Roles:
Coordinate with, and provide assistance to senior project staff on all commercial and contractual matters as instructed. This will include assisting the Project Manager and Commercial Manager in carrying out any commercial, contractual or contract administration tasks including letter writing, relevant report preparation and minutes of meetings as instructed.
Provide guidance to document controllers and others in obtaining documentation and other support to assist with contract administration issues. Ensure that all necessary records are kept.
Provide the necessary input for reports on commercial and contractual issues and assist in the preparation of contractual correspondence and reports as instructed.
Assist in the pre-qualification of consultants and contractors; preparation of RFPs / tender documentation; tender evaluation, reports and recommendations.
Direct Responsibilities:
Quantify variations in conjunction with the Contractor and recommend the value thereof to the Commercial Manager.
Review interim and final payment applications submitted by contractors and consultants and check calculations, rates, measurements, etc.
Prepare interim valuations and payment certificates for consultants, contractors and the company.
Prepare spreadsheets and reports including valuations, certificates, proformas, cash flow forecasts, etc.
Conduct site surveys including weekly and ad-hoc site photography. Register and store soft and hard copy of site surveys and photographs on a regular basis.
Carry out measurements on site, from drawings and from the BIM model, with reference to the specifications and other contract documents in accordance with relevant standards of measurement as necessary.
Assist in updating the project risk register.
