To manage all quantities relating to projects, from initial calculations to the final figures. To seek to minimize the costs of project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
2. Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
3. Review project man-hours and the allocation of man-hours in conjunction with planning and cost control on a weekly basis.
4. Accurately measure the amount of materials needed.
5. Review manpower is needed to finish the construction.
6. Review and measure allocated work to subcontractors and their reported physical progress.
7. Responsible for providing the full range of Quantity Surveying duties on major work projects, reporting on the physical and financial progress and quality achieved.
8. Assist with the planning and monitoring or projects procured using Term Partnering Agreements, Framework Agreements, Open Book principles, or similar.
9. Support the Contract Services Team in preparing programme estimates, cost reports, forecasts and supporting Contract Managers Supervisors with day to day cost management.
10. Provide support with procurement exercises and tender evaluation as required, ensuring value for money is obtained in all circumstances.
11. Develop appropriate financial reconciliation processes to ensure efficient budget management, value for money, and year on year cost savings. Develop ongoing value engineering with contractor partners.
12. Fulfill the role as advisor on all contractual or cost issues relating to Contract works projects.
